Scheduling for classes is an exciting time, but it can also be stressful. We are here to help you select classes that are relevant to your individual post-secondary goals. If you have questions about scheduling, please reach out to your counselor at any time.

Scheduling Timeline

Monday, February 24, 2020: Scheduling Information Distributed & 9th Grade Meetings

Scheduling information will be distributed to all students in grades 6-11 on Monday, February 24. In addition to the Course Selection Guide, each student will receive a copy of his/her transcript and subject approval form. 

Senior High Counselors will meet with all 9th grade students during social studies to discuss the scheduling process. 

After scheduling information is distributed, all Senior High and Intermediate High School teachers will spend time during class discussing courses and requirements within that particular department. 

Tuesday, February 25, 2020 and Wednesday, February 26, 2020: 10th & 11th Grade Meetings

School counselors will meet with all 10th and 11th grade students during their English class on February 25 and February 26. 

Monday, March 2, 2020 : Scheduling Open House 

There will be a Scheduling Open House for parents and students on Monday, March 2 from 6-8 pm at the Intermediate High School. All students currently in grades 6-11 (i.e. those who will attend the IHS or SHS the following year) are welcome and encouraged to attend.

This event will be a chance for parents and students to learn more about course offerings and ask questions. In addition, representatives Community College of Beaver County (CCBC), Butler County Community College (BC3), Butler Vo-Tech, CPT, College Within The High School, BC3 Pathways and High Flight will be available to share materials and answer any questions.

March 2020

Approximately two weeks after scheduling information is distributed, students are required to return their subject approval forms as directed. They will also enter their course requests online to register for classes. This should be done based on their subject approval forms. 


Special Offerings

Butler Area School District is proud to offer students unique opportunities to learn outside of a traditional classroom. From our Pre-Apprenticeship Program to courses at BC3, students have access to a variety of  real world programs that are offered within our high school curriculum.
