Seventeen students in grades seven through twelve represented Butler Area School District at the regional meeting of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS). Eleven of those students qualified for the state meeting of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science on May 19, 2021!

In addition, the following students received special awards:
Evelyn Paserba received a perfect score and the $100 Slippery Rock University Award for Outstanding Junior High Chemistry project.
Julia Bianchin received the $100 Slippery Rock University Award for Outstanding Junior High Math project.
Ava Brewster received the $100 Donald Orloski Honorary Award for Outstanding Junior High project.
Emma Teff received the $100 Slippery Rock University Award for Outstanding Senior High Math project.
