Mrs. Scheidt's third grade scholars at Broad Street Elementary School have been SHINING all year! They recently practiced multiplication, analyzed poetry and nonfiction text, and identified the main idea and details with a GLOW DAY celebration.

During the 2021-2022 school year, the Butler Area School District initiated the Fishing is Fun in Butler program in several of the elementary buildings. This program was started as an extension of the Fly Tying club that has been in existence for several years at the Butler Intermediate High School, and complimented the Fisheries Science program components at both the Butler Middle School and Butler Senior High Schools.
Pasta with a Purpose Spaghetti Dinner benefits Broad Street Elementary School, including PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports), PBL (Project Based Learning, PCSS (Parents-Community-Staff Scholars) and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics).
April 25th from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm General Butler Vagabonds Center (138 Whitestown Road, Lyndora, PA)
Dine in or take out! Meal includes spaghetti with meat sauce or marinara, garden salad and dessert.

Broad Street Elementary School hosted a Paint & Play event that was planned by a group parents, teachers, and supported by Slippery Rock University students.
Broad Street scholars and their parents were invited to a catered dinner and painting session. We had a great turnout. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible!

Beginning next month, all school districts throughout Pennsylvania will participate in the Pennsylvania System of School Assessments (PSSA).
The Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation, Inc. is excited to announce that the 19th Annual Fine Arts and Beyond (FAB) Showcase is just around the corner! Save the date for Saturday, April 2nd at the Intermediate High School. We are thrilled to be able to host this event in person once again!
Save the date for "The Power of One Caring Adult," which will take place on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 6:30-8:00 pm.
March is Music In Our Schools Month and as part of our month-long celebration of music, we are excited to announce that we are planning to relaunch our elementary music education program!
We have already had a significant number of students express an interest in learning to play an instrument. We have also had many students who are interested, but are unable to provide their own instrument.
