A Message from the Butler County Superintendents Mar 4, 2020

Parents/Guardians,

The health, safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. With the recently elevated discussion regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) in the news, we want to take a moment to reinforce preventive safety measures and reference our process and communications.

While there are NO confirmed cases at the District level or in Pennsylvania regarding coronavirus, we are continuing to closely monitor updates and are following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations in proactively planning should measures need to be put in place. All Butler County Superintendents/Executive Director and School Nurses are maintaining regular contact with Butler County leaders, Pennsylvania Department of Health officials, Butler Health System and other health care providers to discuss official updates, share information and, if needed, to coordinate any response. We are committed to collaborating in this effort and making the best possible decisions for our students, staff and families.

Power Outage at Center Township Feb 27, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Center Township Elementary School has lost partial power. Without full power in the building, we will be unable to provide lunch to our students and maintain heat throughout the day.

Our plan is to transport all Center Township Elementary School students to the Intermediate High School via bus at 11:30 am. All students will have the opportunity to eat lunch at the Intermediate High School and participate in various activities throughout the day.

At the conclusion of the day, we will dismiss bus students directly from the Intermediate High School.  Students who are already scheduled for parent pick up will be transported back to Center Township for dismissal.

Gifted students who were at Center Township today from other elementary schools are currently being sent back to their home schools. Center Township gifted students will be sent to the Intermediate High School with their regular class at 11:30 am.

If you would like to pick your child up early from school, please try to arrive at Center Township before 11:30 am. If you cannot get there before 11:30 and want to pick your child up early, please go to the Intermediate High School. The Intermediate High School office number is 724-214-3400.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility.

Sincerely,

Brian J. White, Jr., Ed.D.
Superintendent
Butler Area School District
