Butler Area School District students may select a Learning Pathway that best fits their individual needs for the 2020-2021 school year.

The Learning Pathways include:

  • Traditional School with Technology Integration Model. Students will attend school full time in person.
  • Online/Cyber School Model. Students will take all of their classes remotely through our Cyber Learning Program. Students will have access to Butler Area School District resources and support, but will not be required to attend school in person for any reason.
  • Hybrid Model (secondary). Secondary students (grades 7-12 will be able to choose which classes they would like to take in person at school and which courses they would prefer to take online through our Cyber Learning Program.
  • Flexible Traditional School Model (secondary). Secondary students (grades 7-12) will be able to attend school in person 2 days a week and remotely at home 3 days a week. The at home work may include teacher assigned work, digital assignments and digital instructional resources.

BASD Cyber Learning Program

Our Cyber Learning Program is a full-time, completely free option for all Butler Area School District students in grades K-12. Students will have the opportunity to learn remotely without ever having to attend school in person.  The Cyber Learning Program will provide students with the same high quality, innovative instruction they are used to receiving in the traditional classroom with the added flexibility of home-based schooling.

We also have a hybrid option available for students in grades 7-12. Students who elect to participate in the hybrid program will take some of their courses in person at school and other courses at home through the Cyber Learning Program.
