School Organization Community Letter -- October 8, 2018

Dear Butler Area School District Community:

We are developing our facility plan for the Butler Area School District. Many of our schools need capital improvements -- some more than others. Prior to investing money into all eleven schools, we have decided to solicit your input to determine if our community is satisfied with how we are currently organized.

We are inviting all stakeholders to share your thoughts and ideas with us.  We plan to hold a number of forums this fall to solicit community feedback.

To help facilitate this conversation, I have generated a number of school organization scenarios, which will be displayed and open to feedback at the forums. One of the scenarios will reflect keeping our schools organized as they currently are today. In addition, community members will have the opportunity to generate their own school organization ideas.

No matter how we proceed, we will have capital costs.  As such, the focus of our initial conversation will be on the education of our students and what makes the most sense for learning in our school community.  

The first school organization forum will be on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Intermediate High School. We hope you will join us!
