Free and Reduced Meals Application

Children need healthy meals to learn. Butler Area School District offers healthy meals every school day.

The USDA has authorized the Butler Area School District to operate under the Seamless Summer program. This allows our district to provide FREE breakfast and lunch to every child ages 0 to 18 until the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

Although meals are free for all students, families may still want to consider submitting their free/reduced meal application. This will ensure their children be covered should there be a disruption to the USDA's free meal program for any reason.

Typically, breakfast costs $1.25, lunch costs $2.25 for elementary, and $2.50 for secondary. Your child(ren) may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Reduced price is $.30 for breakfast and $.40 for lunch. This packet includes an application for free and reduced price meal benefits, and a set of detailed instructions. Below are some common questions and answers to help you with the application process.
