Act 32 Announcement

BUTLER AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT EARNED INCOME TAX OFFICE

AND

BUTLER COUNTY TAX COLLECTION COMMITTEE

 

Act 32 of 2008 provides for a restructuring of the Earned Income Tax Collection System for Pennsylvania local governments and school districts. This legislation is one of the most significant pieces of local tax legislation that has been enacted in recent years. Act 32 mandates the consolidation of countywide tax collection. Therefore, the Butler County Tax Collection Committee (BCTCC) was formed in October of 2009 and is comprised of delegates representing each political subdivision. On July, 28, 2010, the BCTCC passed a resolution contracting with Berkheimer Tax Administrator as Butler County’s Third Party Collector effective January 2012.

 

The Butler Area School District Earned Income Tax Office has contracted with Berkheimer Tax Administrator in October, 2010 for an early transition and officially closed its office at 110 Campus Lane on Wednesday, December 15, 2010.  All municipalities currently collected by Butler Area School District Earned Income Tax Office will be contracting with Berkheimer Tax Administrator as well in October, 2010.
