Meal Information

Butler Area School District Food Service is always working to offer students healthier and tastier choices. We serve school meals that meet tough federal nutritional standards, ensuring that meals are healthy, well balanced and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school. Students are offered milk, fruits, vegetable, proteins, and grains. Meals must meet strict limits for saturated fat and portion size.

Standards for the school year include:

  • Age appropriate calorie limits
  • Larger servings of vegetables and fruit
  • A wider variety of vegetables (including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes
  • Fat free or 1% milk
  • More Whole Grain
