Career Action Plan Interviews

CAP interviews

Juniors at Butler Area School District had an incredible opportunity to meet one on one with an industry professional in a field that is of interest to them.

Mrs. Shannon McGraw, School to Career & College Tech Prep Coordinator, and the Senior High School Guidance Department arranged nearly 500 Career Action Plan (CAP) interviews for our junior class this week. This was a huge endeavor for our district. Not only did they arrange the interviews, each student was specifically matched with an industry professional in a career field that is of interest to them.

As a pilot, the first 70 CAP interviews took place in March. In addition to interview experience, students were given job shadow experiences and volunteer experiences. Some students were even hired for part-time work and internships while others were fortunate enough to gain a career mentor.

Part of our school district’s mission is to prepare students to succeed in an ever-changing global society through academically rigorous and individualized learning experiences.

These interviews were an incredible culminating experience for our students that align with our district’s mission and strategic plan.

We would like to thank all of the faculty and staff who worked together to make the CAP interviews possible for our students.

We’d also like to thank the many members of our community who volunteered their time to participate in the interviews. Without them, this opportunity would not have been possible for our students.
