Assistant Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Brian Slamecka was appointed Assistant Superintendent of Schools by the Board of School Directors on August 2, 2012. Dr. Slamecka began his career in 2000 as a chemistry teacher at the Butler Senior High School and continued in that capacity for six years. In 2006, Dr. Slamecka became an Assistant Principal at the Butler Intermediate High School. In 2007, Dr. Slamecka returned to the Senior High School as an Assistant Principal and has maintained that position until his appointment to Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools. In addition to his role as Assistant Principal at the Butler Senior High School, Dr. Slamecka served as the Principal for the Butler Area School District Alternative Education Program from 2008 through 2012.

Dr. Slamecka is a 1995 graduate of the Butler Area School District. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and Secondary Education in 1999 from Gannon University, a Master of Education Degree in Educational Administration from Westminster College in 2005, K-12 Principal Certification from Westminster College in 2005, and a Doctor of Education Degree in Administration and Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2011.
