9th Grade Students Visit Fallingwater

Ms. Lindsey Walker had always hoped to take her 9th grade interior design class to Fallingwater.

When Dr. White offered all BASD teachers the chance to submit a “DREAM” proposal and win $500 to turn their dream into a reality, Ms. Walker jumped at the chance. Her proposal was selected and her dream became a reality!

Not only did the students get to visit Fallingwater with Ms. Walker, they experienced a private guided tour of the house. The students were able  to look at the features of Frank Lloyd Wright's design both inside and out. They were able to see the landscape features and how the house incorporated the outside boulders into the inside of the house.

“It was a fun, unique experience; I really enjoyed it,” said Nevaeh Maga, a 9th grade interior design student.

“It was very modern and unique; how it was built into the hillside,” added Leo Iarrapino, who is also a 9th grade interior design student.

The features of Fallingwater will be used in the classroom for the students to become inspired to create their own projects.

“The visit to Fallingwater was such a great experience.,” said Ms. Walker. “I’m really glad we were able to offer this unique learning opportunity to our students. I can’t wait to see what they create using Fallingwater as their inspiration.”

“Fallingwater is a place I would love to visit over and over again,” said Morgan McClean.
