Remembering Dr. Fink

We are saddened to learn that Dr. Edward Fink passed away on December 20, 2021. 

Dr. Fink worked at Butler Area School District from September 2, 1969 until June 30, 2012. He touched the lives of many throughout his nearly 43 years with the district. 

He began his career at Butler as a Junior High History Teacher and held many roles before ultimately becoming the Superintendent of Butler Area School District.

  • 9/2/1969-6/1973 – Junior High History Teacher
  • 8/19/73 – 12/1978 – Intermediate High School History Teacher
  • 1/17/1978 – 2/1981 – Assistant  Principal at the Intermediate High School
  • 2/1981 – 6/1982 – Supervisor of Pupil Personnel
  • 7/1982 – 6/1985 – Director of Pupil Personnel
  • 7/1985 – 6/1986 – Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Supervision, and Evaluation K-12
  • 7/1986 – 9/30/1994 – Assistant Superintendent
  • 10/1/1994 – 6/30/1995 – Substitute Superintendent of Schools
  • 7/1/1995 – 6/30/2012 – Superintendent of Butler Area school District

Dr. Fink was involved with The Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation, Inc. since its inception in 1991. He was a leader of great integrity who valued and recognized integrity in others. Many of his colleagues looked up to him as he continually advocated for our students. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues. He was a valued member of our community and we know he will be missed.
