Caring Angels

Hello Friends, Families, and Staff,

I’d like to update you about how the Northwest Caring Angel Fundraiser finished up this year. Our Goal was to raise over $2,222.22, our total from last year. Well, we did it!  The students, families and staff raised $2,782.12 for Caring Angels.  And we did it with a few less students than last year. Thank you all so much.

If you watch the Butler Area School District Station, Channel 204, there is a piece on there about the district wide caring Angel Program and Northwest is on at the very beginning.  If you get the chance to watch it, it will let you in on a glimpse of the school day that makes NW such a wonderful place.

A special thanks to all of our friends and the staff at Northwest for their donations of water, lollipops, and candy canes.  Also, a very special Thank You to Barkus Chocolates for all of the chocolate medallions.  And an extra BIG Thank You to Mrs. Morrow for leading the effort!

In addition to that great sum of money, the staff provided Christmas gifts for 30 students under the leadership of Mr. Harold Dunn, school counselor. Mr. Dunn and all of his elves are the best.

Also, the Northwest Back Pack Program, lead by Vicki Semes, a retired NW teacher, and supported by many of the NW staff, provided 3 meals a day for 11 days for 38 students. That’s 1,254 meals for our students. Unbelievable!!!!!  WOW!  YOU ARE AMAZING!!!  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!  NW is part of the district Back Pack Program that continues to expand across our schools.

Thanks to all of you who have supported the efforts that help our students beyond the academics!
