Every year the American Legion conducts an essay writing contest that is open to all students grades 7-12. The essay contest was conducted in November and a panel of teachers at the Intermediate served as judges.

Essay Prompt: The Red, White, and Blue:  What does it mean to you?  

  • Katherine White, grade 7

The Commander of Butler American Legion Post 117, Jim Dittmer, presented the winners with a certificate and monetary award for their efforts on January 17.
