A Message from the Superintendent -- Jan. 31

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As you know, we had to cancel school twice this week due to the temperature. I want to let you know how that impacts our school calendar as well as how it impacts the first semester grading window.

The faculty agreed to have an Act 80 Day on Wednesday, January 30. This means students will not have to make up that day. However, students and faculty will have to make up Thursday, January 31 as a result of the cancellation today. We will use our last scheduled make up day, which is April 18.

To recap, due to school cancellations so far this year, the follow days are now school days for all students:

  • Monday, February 18, 2019
  • Thursday, April 18, 2019
  • Tuesday, April 23, 2019

The cancellations this week also impacted our grading window. The Tyler Parent Portal will now be temporarily unavailable until February 5, 2019 while our teachers are entering grades. Our goal is to be able to distribute digital grades and report cards on February 5, 2019.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility. I appreciate it.

Brian J. White, Jr., Ed.D.
