February was American Heart Month and all Butler Area School District elementary schools, including the middle school, took part in the Kids Heart Challenge for the 12th year in a row! Learn more>
The Kids Heart Challenge, formerly known as Jump Rope for the Heart, is not only a great way for students to learn jump roping skills, it also helps raise funds for the American Heart Association. Together we're joining the fight against our nation's No. 1 and No. 3 killers -- cardiovascular disease and stroke.
Subway of Butler restaurants, which are all locally owned and operated, have also partnered with Butler Area School District and the Kids Heart Challenge program again this year. Every student in grades kindergarten through fourth grade will receive a coupon for a free bag of baked chips that can be used at any Subway in Butler, no purchase necessary. Additionally, 8 students in each class will receive a coupon for a free 6-inch sub. Subway is the only fast food brand with approved healthy options for kids on their Fresh "Fit for Kids" menu.
