A Message from the Superintendent -- April 15

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Late last night (Sunday, April 14), the school district was informed that an inappropriate online conversation between high school students that contained threatening communication had been reported to the Butler Township Police Department.  A Senior High School student has been identified and charged. Therefore, all Butler Area School District schools will operate on a normal schedule today -- Monday, April 15, 2019.

We are grateful to those who saw the inappropriate communication and reported it to local law enforcement. The school district takes all threats seriously and will engage in all appropriate disciplinary action under the student code of conduct and under Pennsylvania State Law.

If you see or hear any disturbing statements involving our schools or students, please remember to immediately report it to the school district and local law enforcement.  Also, if you ever have questions or concerns about school safety, please contact your child’s principal.

Sincerely,

Brian J. White, Jr. Ed.D.
Superintendent
Butler Area School District
