Center Avenue Students Visit the Lemieux Sports Complex

Center Ave Students

Center Avenue Community School students recently went on a field trip to the Lemieux Sports Complex and training Center in Cranberry.

Students were given a tour of the facility and discussed numerous items such as facility usage, rink maintenance, sports training, and nutrition. Students were also fortunate enough to have some "ice time" to skate.

The field trip was sponsored by a local non-profit group, Connecting2Tomorrow, which enables students to explore work opportunities in areas/ facilities near them and prepares them for work readiness.

Representatives from Connecting2Tomorrow also visit Center Avenue once a month to discuss career readiness. They often use utilize motivational speakers and field trips to motivate our students.

Mr. Jay McBride, Center Avenue science teacher, has been instrumental in connecting this program to Center Avenue School.

Thank you to Connecting2Tomorrow for making this opportunity possible!
