Greetings from the New Principal

Emily Brittain Families,

My name is Mrs. Cassandra (Cassie) Pencek, and I am the new principal at Emily Brittain Elementary School. I am overjoyed to be the proud principal of the building where your children attend school!

I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself. I have spent the last two years as the Assistant Principal at Dorseyville Middle School in the Fox Chapel Area School District. Prior to that, I was an Assistant Principal at two elementary buildings in the Seneca Valley School District. Before I earned my administrative certificate, I spent ten years as an educational consultant. I worked with students, teachers, and administrators in many school districts and grade levels across Pennsylvania and Ohio. I spent the early part of my educational career as a kindergarten teacher in the Ft. LeBoeuf School District. I hold my Principal Certification from California University of PA and a Master of Reading with a Reading Specialist Certification and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Slippery Rock University. I am currently attending Point Park University for my Doctorate of Education.

I live in Cranberry Township with my husband and two children. When we are not at soccer or baseball games, we love to bike and spend time with our family and friends. I grew up in the small town of Linesville, PA, which is known as the town “where the ducks walk on the fish!”

As a leader, I have three core values that guide my decisions: student-focused, data-driven, and shared ownership. My focus will always be to encourage and challenge all children to reach their fullest potential. I believe in a strong partnership with parents and families, and I look forward to getting to know you and your children!
