Dear Center Township Families:
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Center Township Elementary School and Mr. Chad Broman as the assistant principal. We are very excited to join this extraordinary school community. We hope that this note finds you enjoying the rejuvenating days of summer and that you and your children are looking forward to beginning a wonderful school year together in August. We can assure you that we share in this school community’s commitment to caring for your children each and every day while providing them a world-class learning environment.
I arrive to Center Township as a seasoned elementary teacher and building principal, but in addition to my role as an educator, I am a mother and wife. In August, my son William begins college at Kent State and my daughter Mackenzie starts her sophomore year in high school. I look forward to introducing my family to the many wonderful people that call Center Township Elementary School “home” in the near future.
The 2019-2020 school year will mark my 26th year in education. Since graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, I have served as a teacher, reading coach, district literacy supervisor, and principal in the Pittsburgh Public Schools and more recently as the principal of two elementary schools in the Beaver Falls School District. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is in my position as an elementary principal where I have been most fulfilled in my life’s work. The elementary principalship provides me the chance to work collaboratively with families and teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. I firmly believe that every child can excel and that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and the future of our community.
Mr. Chad Broman, having been part of the Center Township family in the past, is looking forward to the opportunity of reuniting and continuing the great work for which the students, parents, and staff are known. This year will be his 14th year in the Butler Area School district, where he has had the opportunity to be a teacher, assistant to the principal, assistant principal, and principal at various buildings in the district. In all of his roles, he has had the pleasure of seeing how each child learns and grows in their own special way. Mr. Broman’s goal is to work together using each child’s individual talents to help him or her achieve success.
With our desire of continuing the tradition of excellence at Center Township Elementary School, we are committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to more effectively communicate with parents and community members. We will be meeting with parents, students, and as a staff throughout the year to identify specific goals in the areas of student achievement, school climate, and parent communication.
In closing, please know that our door is always open to you. We heartily welcome your conversation and input throughout this year. Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. We look forward to celebrating our collective successes during the 2019-2020 school year.
Enjoy the remaining days of summer!
