BASD Educators Recognized by Lorraine Chapter Order of DeMolay

On Wednesday, November 6th, members of Lorraine Chapter Order of DeMolay, and their
younger brothers, the members of William C. Graham Manor Order of Squires, held a special
ceremony and reception recognizing outstanding educators in the area, including several from Butler Area School District!

The 2019 nominees are:
- Mrs. Chelsie Tonini, Emily Brittain Community Partnership and Demonstration School
- Mr. Michael Menchyk, Butler Senior High School
- Colonel Mark Pappal, Butler Intermediate High School
- Miss Jessica Carlson, Butler Intermediate High School
- Mrs. Jeanine Carlson, Butler Senior High School

DeMolay and Squires are Masonic sponsored youth leadership organizations. The Order of
Squires is for boys aged 9-11, and DeMolay is for young men aged 12-21 years. Both
organizations are youth led, meaning the youth members run the meetings, choose, plan,
organize and orchestrate the events held and attended. The youth members learn by doing,
mentored by their advisors.
