Center Township students have been learning how to SOAR!
The SOAR acronym reminds students to display behaviors that are Safe & In control, show Ownership, display a positive Attitude, and demonstrate Respect & Responsibility.
During the first week of school, CT students participated in a “SOAR Tour.” During the SOAR Tour, students learned the behavioral expectations for six areas of their school – the bus, cafeteria, hallway & common areas, restrooms, classrooms and playground.
Students also had the opportunity to participate in a SOAR assembly. The assembly was a fun way to review the school expectations in the form of a Jeopardy game.
Now that Center Township students know how to SOAR, teachers will begin looking for and recognizing SOARing behaviors.
SOAR is Center Township’s School-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (SWPBIS) program. Last spring, the school was recognized for their program by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
