Butler County Commissioners and the Butler Eagle are sponsoring a poster contest for students in kindergarten through fourth grade encouraging county residents to participate in the U.S. Census.
Six winning entries will be selected (one top prize and five runner-up awards). They will be recognized on April 1, Census Day, at the 10 a.m. county commissioners meeting. Participation awards will also be given.
Students can pick up a poster contest canvas at their elementary school starting on Wednesday, March 4. Entries can also be submitted on 8.5x11 inch or 11x17 inch paper. Projects may use any medium including crayons, chalk, markers and paint. The slogan "Count Me In!" must be included.
Entries are due Tuesday, March 24 and will be judged on March 30 and 31 by county commissioners. Entries can be dropped off at the Butler Eagle (514 W. Wayne St.). For more information, contact Donna Sybert, Eagle associate managing editor, at 724-282-8000, ext. 243.
