8th Grade Pennsylvania At Risk Youth Survey

Dear Parents of 8th Grade Students:

We want to let you know that we will be administering the Pennsylvania At Risk Youth Survey (PAYS) to all 8th grade students on November 13.

The Pennsylvania At Risk Youth Survey is a way to learn more about our students’ behavior, attitudes and knowledge concerning alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and violence. Butler Area School District administered the survey to students for the first time in 2017. The results were informative and enabled us to implement opportunities for our students to seek help if they need it and policies to help keep our students safe.

While the district may share the results from the PAYS as a whole, individual student results will be anonymous. Parents may review the survey and opt their 8th grade student out of taking the Pennsylvania At Risk Youth Survey. If you would like opt your child out, please contact the Intermediate School Office at 724-214-2400 by November 11, 2019.

Sincerely,

Stephen Dobransky
Principal
Intermediate High School
